- Here's another example on how Cap and Trade will be destructive...it permits the very large polluters to threaten governments that they'll fire their workers and leave the country unless they're granted a generous share of free carbon credits. They can then turn around and sell those for an instant profit or refuse to sell them to smaller competitors, for example, and effectively limit competition. Notice something...it's not about emissions reductions, it's all about the $$$'s.
